I have found over and over again in my life that this is the true way to growth.
The thing about trial by fire is that you can't have a safety net. You can have a backup plan sure, but you must have a real chance of failure that no one will shield you from and is a very real possiblity.
The thing about strength of purpose is that you can't fake it. You can strengthen it, but that's for another post.
Compromise: Selling your soul to get what you want. Which ironically, you only wanted because of your soul in the first place. An oxymoron and contradiction (to get what you want, it must be in a form where you no longer want it).
A short list of people who are outwardly successful without compromise (inwardly, no one who compromises is successful):
"There is no organization there, just strength of will and purpose. If you know what you want to do, and who you are, it’s easy not to be distracted by your own bullshit. If you have illusions about who you are–that is an inflated sense of it–and are, deep down, averse to hard work, it’s impossible to not be distracted by it. Your fear of failure and your creeping awareness that you are a fraud makes it a certainty–a necessity even–that you detour just enough to prevent ever facing a legitimate opportunity to fail. If you fail, the entire edifice collapses."
Your inner world is completely aligned. The two brain systems. Your mental, emotional, spiritual, and reality all match up into a consistent worldview.
2nd Person Congruency
Your life is completely aligned with your inner world. Your productive achievements, your relationships, your actions and reactions, and your leisure, all are congruent within each other and your world view.
